-The Raven Cycle: Review-

Hey lovelies~!

I’m back, and we’ll see how long for I guess, haha! Today, I wanted to talk about a book series that I binged read over a week and fell in love with. And that series is The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater. This review is spoiler free! 🙂

When I first heart of these books, a couple years ago, I judged them and believed they were going to be soppy romantic teeny-bop books… well, damn, I was wrong. Entirely wrong! The first thing that drew me into these books was the whole supernatural/psychic thing – that’s an instant win for me!! 😀

The next thing I was drawn to was the characters. Now, I am a sucker for character development and we definitely get that (especially with Ronan Lynch) but another thing that I loved about Maggie’s characters was the fact that they felt like real people. They were very three-dimensional and all had little quirks and things that made them ‘them’.

The plot and story were also very interesting, and although I sometimes found myself a little sleepy with Gansey’s constant talk of the Welsh King and his history, I did also find it intriguing and there was a lot of other stuff going on, with other characters too, that kept my attention. It never felt like the story was dragging, and everything that happened worked towards the plot and the character’s final goals.

Honestly, if you like supernatural/ghostly books with characters who actually feel like they could be your friends in real life, then you’ll absolutely love these books!! I promise!

My favourite character was definitely Ronan and I can’t wait to read more about him now that Maggie has revealed his new spin-off series.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this review and I hope you’re having a lovely and safe day/night wherever in the world you are~! ❤
