Hello, beautiful people! Let’s have a chit-chat about Kat Von D’s Liquid Lipsticks!
So, when Kat’s stuff finally hit the UK Debenhams website I was beyond stoked and couldn’t wait to get my hands on some of her stuff. Her collection has one of my holy grail’s and that is the Lock-It Powder Foundation in the shade Light 42 – it’s the first foundation I managed to find that was pale enough for my ghostly skin, ha-ha! 😀
So, focusing on the four shades I purchased (each was £17), let’s discuss some of the pros and cons.
The shades I have (left to right) are ‘Witches’, ‘Bow N Arrow’, ‘Lolita’ and ‘Beloved’.
So, the positives are that they are:
-Pigmented – all four shades I have tried have been very pigmented and generally only need one coat; never more than two and it’s normally witches (the black one) that needs a second.
-Transfer – there is very little transfer with these. I had ‘witches’ on and drunk from a white mug and there was just a little bit of black left on the mug but nothing to cry over.
-Lasts – they are definitely long wear and last pretty much all day – only time you have to start panicking is if you eat any oil based foods because no matter how frickin’ amazing your liquid lipstick is that stuff will melt it away.
-Bow N Arrow – this shade is an unsaturated brown and it is BEAUtiful! Just look at it!!
There is only one negative to this product but it’s quite a big one…
-Drying – these liquid lipsticks dry your lips out like a frickin’ desert. No joke, they need therapy after just wearing these for a few hours. And by the end of the day you find that your lips are flaking and peeling. Not good. 😦
Overall, these are a YAY but I will only wear these for special occasions – typically parties or events that only last a few hours. Simply because I don’t want my lips feeling like stale bread at the end of the day/night. If you do plan on using these 24/7 then I suggest investing in a decent lip scrub and balm and send prayers upwards so that your lips don’t shrivel up and scream at you ‘why have you done this to me?!’
Ha-ha, thanks for viewing my blog folks and I hope you’re having a wonderful and safe day/night~!
